Editorial Policy


Interdisciplinary Journal of Linguistics (IJL) follows a standard procedure in selecting the research papers and follows a standard editorial policy. The Chief Editor selects peer referees amongst prominent scholars and professionals on the recommendation of the Editorial Board members.

Manuscripts are sent to two referees for review of the contents and the identities of the authors are not disclosed. Acceptance of the manuscript is governed by the recommendations of the referees. In case of a marked discrepancy in the decisions of the two referees, the manuscript is send to a third referee for final comments/decision. 

 

The reviewed manuscripts are returned to the respective author with recommendations/comments. However, names of the referees are kept confidential. The respective author has to state clearly the revisions/improvisations that s/he has made in response to the referees’ comments. The final decision regarding the acceptance or rejection for publication is emailed to the respective author by the Chief Editor.The peer review process takes usually six to eight weeks after the manuscript is submitted and the research papers  are published after a final revision process.





Ethical Policy


Authors must  read and comply with our ethical policy before submitting to Interdisciplinary  Journal of   Linguistics (IJL)  . This is necessary to prevent any kind of ethical misconduct. The author has to submit    a certificate to the editor confirming that the research paper  is based on an original work and that it has not been either published or is not under consideration elsewhere. The source of all data and third party material should be disclosed openly. The author must acknowledge/list all references used in/for the research paper according to the recommended style.  

Plagiarism or copyright infringement may sometimes occur due to a lack of understanding, and not necessarily through fraudulent intent. As such, the editors in accordance with the University of Kashmir policy of anti-plagiarism can have submissions scanned using plagiarism detection software to check a paper’s originality before sending it for review.
